What is the PEA CGL Exam?
The PEA CGL exam (Puducherry Combined Graduate Level Exam), conducted by the Puducherry Examining Authority (PEA), is held to recruit candidates for various Group B and Group C posts across departments of the Puducherry Government. It covers regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam.
It is different from the central SSC CGL exam — PEA CGL is specific to Puducherry Union Territory government job vacancies, making it a distinct and high-value opportunity for local aspirants.
The exam consists of two papers:
- Paper I (Common for all posts) — General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Studies, Ethics, English Language, and Computer Knowledge.
- Paper II (Post-specific) — Subject knowledge relevant to the applied post (e.g., Statistics for Statistical Inspector, Library Science for Library Assistant).
